About

About Bandit Biosystems

Bandit Biosystems develops, manufactures and supports qPCR assay panels, amplification reagents and NGS library preparation kits for molecular laboratories.

What we make

Practical, high-performance tools for molecular labs

  • qPCR pathogen panels. SeqOnce™ and AmphiSense™ multiplex panels for women's health, sexually transmitted, urinary tract, wound, antibiotic resistance, respiratory and emerging-pathogen targets.
  • Veterinary panels. Canine and feline enteric and respiratory panels and a ringworm panel, for specimens from veterinary sources.
  • Amplification reagents. SeqOnce™ and Bandit Biosystems qPCR and RT-qPCR master mixes, optimized for our panels.
  • Controls. Panel-matched positive controls, included with every panel.
  • NGS library preparation. RhinoSeq™ DNA library prep and D5/D7 dual indexes for Illumina sequencing.
  • Custom assays and OEM supply. Assays, reagents and contract manufacturing for labs and partners.

How we work

Close to the bench

  • Applications support. Our Field Applications Specialists are molecular biologists who help develop, verify and troubleshoot protocols.
  • Open platforms. Our panels run on widely used qPCR instruments, so labs can use the equipment they already have.
  • Fast custom development. Custom assays are typically delivered in 3 to 10 weeks.
  • U.S. manufacturing. Products are made and shipped from our U.S. facilities.
  • Responsive service. Dedicated support for new and repeat orders.

Conservation

Why the animals

Bandit Biosystems: serious about human samples, playful about everything else.

Our products are named for threatened and endangered species. As biologists, we believe humanity is better served when ecosystems are maintained and the diversity of life is protected. By naming our panels after these animals, we hope to draw attention to the work of conservation groups such as Sumatran Rhino Rescue.

White rhinoceros standing in dry grassland
RhinocerosThree of the five species, the Javan, Sumatran and black rhinos, are critically endangered by poaching and habitat loss. The white rhino was brought back from the brink through sustained conservation.
Tiger resting
Amur big catsThe Amur leopard is among the most endangered big cats in the world, with only a small wild population left in the Russian Far East. Poaching, deforestation and fire are the main threats.
Gorilla portrait
Lions and great apesLions have lost much of their range to habitat loss and conflict with people and are listed as vulnerable. Great apes, including the orangutans of genus Pongo, are losing forest habitat.
Blue poison dart frog on a leaf
Poison dart frogsMany of the more than 200 species are threatened, mainly by logging and the clearing of rainforest.
