Bandit Biosystems has introduced Women's Health Panel C Ready-2-Test, a multiplex qPCR kit that pairs 14 sexually transmitted, mycoplasma, vaginal flora and yeast targets with 18 antibiotic resistance genes. Master mix, primers, probes and buffers come in the kit, so the only thing a laboratory adds is extracted sample.
What the panel covers
- Sexually transmitted pathogens: Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Chlamydia trachomatis, Trichomonas vaginalis and Mycoplasma genitalium.
- Mycoplasma and Ureaplasma: M. hominis, U. urealyticum and U. parvum.
- Vaginal flora: Gardnerella vaginalis, Lactobacillus crispatus and L. jensenii.
- Yeasts: Candida albicans, C. tropicalis, C. glabrata and C. parapsilosis.
- Antibiotic resistance genes: macrolide (ermA, ermB, ermC), methicillin (mecA), fluoroquinolone (qnrA, qnrB), ESBL (SHV, CTX-M groups 1, 2 and 9), trimethoprim (dfrA1, dfrA5), carbapenem (OXA-48, KPC) and others (ampC, tet(M), sul1, sul2).
- Internal control: human RNase P, included in the plexes where indicated.
Format
- 8 multiplex reactions on FAM, HEX, Cy5 and ROX.
- 15 µL reactions (11 µL pre-mix plus 4 µL sample) in 96-well or 384-well plates.
- 48 reactions per kit, in two options: 500059 with four individual positive controls, or 500058 with a single Super Control covering all targets.
- Stored at −20 °C. Pre-mixes can be thawed and refrozen up to three times.
