Overview
Single-tube RT-qPCR assay for the H5 hemagglutinin gene and the influenza A M1 gene. The H5 assay is designed to detect all known clades and variants of highly pathogenic avian influenza A/H5N1, including recent human strains. The influenza A assay targets a highly conserved region of M1 shared by known H and N subtypes. A proprietary multi-species internal control detects nucleic acid from most higher vertebrates, including human, bovine and avian samples.

Recommended cycling
- RT incubation: 50 °C, 15 min
- Enzyme activation: 95 °C, 2 min
- 40 cycles: 95 °C 3 s, 58 °C 30 s
